My first book Land Marks was a series of ‘biographies’ of some of England’s best-loved wild places, including the Stiperstones, Richmond Park and Wicken Fen. It was published by English Nature and was a History Today award-winner. Since then I’ve been a contributor to Britain’s Best Country Walks for Haynes Publishing, helped Adams Media develop The Environment Equation, a user-friendly guide for greener living, and contributed to The Complete Guide to British Birds, from Igloo Books. I’m currently working with Pocket Mountain on a series of walking guides to west Wales; the Ceredigion title was published in 2014, a Pembrokeshire book followed last year, and a Carmarthenshire one is on the way.
